Grabyo Live is a cloud production platform for running live shows end to end in a web browser — control rooms, productions, shared assets, user access, encoding, and multi-layer recording are all managed from a single unified interface.

📕 Note: Grabyo Live is a new standalone platform with its own product model, interface, account structure, media profiles, recording model, and pricing. It is not an extension of, or a replacement for, Grabyo Studio or Grabyo Editor.
Platform direction
Grabyo Live is built around a shared production experience. Control rooms, shows, assets, user entitlements, encoding profiles, recordings, and account-level configuration are managed through common navigation and shared services within the platform.
Unified interface for both control room management and live production.
Navigation sidebar with Home, Shows, Asset Library, and Account Management sections.
Centralised dashboard for starting and stopping control rooms.
Shows section for tracking running productions, including duration timers.
Shared asset library available across all control rooms, replacing previously independent per-room asset stores.
Core capabilities at a glance
What changes in Grabyo Live, and why it matters for production teams.
Area | New behaviour | Why it matters |
Unified navigation | Home, Shows, Asset Library, and Account Management are exposed through a common sidebar. | Operators and admins move between production management and configuration without switching workflows. |
Control room dashboard | Control rooms can be started and stopped from a centralised dashboard. | Improves operational visibility and reduces control room setup friction. |
Shows tracking | Running productions are tracked in the Shows section with duration timers. | Gives a clearer view of active usage and supports operational and billing workflows. |
Shared asset library | Assets are shared across control rooms rather than isolated per room. | Reduces duplication, supports central management, and keeps productions consistent. |
User and account management | Users, Roles, Groups, account data, cloud instances, key bindings, tags, and media profiles are managed at account level. | Separates access control, resource entitlement, and shared configuration from individual productions. |
Encoding profiles | Video, audio, and muxing profiles can be combined into flexible output configurations. | Supports different destinations and production requirements without one fixed control room setup. |
ISO recording and playback | Multi-layer recording supports clean outputs, language-specific outputs, and individual camera feeds. | Improves post-production, download, review, and future replay workflows. |
User management and account structure
Grabyo Live separates people, permissions, resource access, and shared configuration.
Access model
Users represent individual people with access to the account.
Roles define granular permissions, such as access to vision mixer tools, audio mixer tools, administration features, or other production functions.
Groups control resource entitlements, including access to cloud instances and control rooms.
Account-level configuration
Account data stores cross-account configuration used by multiple rooms and workflows.
Cloud instances define the infrastructure resources available to the account.
Key bindings are editable offline and are no longer bound to a specific control room.
Tags support colour coding and emoji, helping teams organise productions, assets, and resources visually.
Media profiles are reusable account-level configurations for encoding and output workflows.
Media profiles and encoding
Encoding moves from single control room encoding to a flexible multi-profile system, so output configuration can be tailored by production, mix, and destination.
Profile components
Video encoding profiles define codec, resolution, bitrate, GOP size, and related video settings.
Audio encoding profiles define AAC settings, bitrate, sample rate, and channel layout.
Muxing profiles define transport stream bitrate, PID configuration, and stream packaging behaviour.
Production and output flexibility
Up to five distinct video mixes can be configured per control room.
A single SRT stream can carry multiple video and audio tracks.
Each output destination can use custom encoding settings.
Encoding supports use cases such as match production, restreaming, clean feeds, language variants, and destination-specific delivery.
ISO recording and playback
Individual ISO selection is replaced by a multi-layered recording system that captures the outputs and inputs needed for review, post-production, download, and future replay.
Feature | Description |
Multi-layer recording | Supports clean outputs, language-specific outputs, and individual camera feeds. |
Download options | Recordings can be downloaded with selectable audio tracks and camera angles. |
Proxy resolutions | Proxy options include 180p, 360p, and 720p, depending on bandwidth and workflow requirements. |
Waveform display | Real-time waveform display supports faster monitoring and review. |
Replay foundation | The recording and playback approach creates the foundation for future replay functionality. |
Control room interface updates
The control room UI is updated to make production workflows faster, clearer, and more consistent with the wider platform experience.
The Layers dialogue uses checkbox switching, so individual layer selection is no longer required.
The menu bar remains fixed on the right side of the interface.
The updated colour system removes the grey overlay filter.
Asset library updates appear in real time within the control room.
Asset import supports multi-select workflows.
Graphics transitions are a separate asset type with central management.
Typical use cases
Match production with multiple mixes, clean feeds, language variants, and selective recording layers.
Restream workflows that require simpler control room capabilities and destination-specific encoding.
Live sports and events coverage with remote production teams.
Digital-first shoulder programming, watchalongs, and remote commentary shows.
Simultaneous publishing to social, OTT, digital, and broadcast endpoints.
Localised or alternative live feeds using different audio tracks, camera angles, or output mixes.
Sponsor-branded live shows and monetised streams.
Operational benefits
Reduces reliance on OB trucks, fixed galleries, and specialist on-site hardware.
Allows operators, editors, and producers to work remotely.
Improves speed of setup for temporary, recurring, or event-based productions.
Supports collaborative workflows across geographically distributed teams.
Centralises assets, permissions, encoding, and production resources for better governance.
Enables more precise cost control through feature-based tiers and usage-based pricing.
