To support sophisticated organisational structures, advanced user management provides granular control over user permissions, resource access and administrative responsibilities.

Access sets
Access sets combine specific user roles with specific system resources. They let organisations manage group permissions efficiently for security and convenience, and streamline what users see in their interface.
Resources
The following resources can be grouped into an access set:
Control rooms
Production slots
Asset library folders
Key binding profiles
Shows
Cumulative permissions
Permissions apply cumulatively across access sets. A single user can hold different roles and permission levels across different sets of resources.
Real-time updates
Adding, removing or modifying user roles within an access set takes effect instantly in the user's view.
Worked example: cumulative permissions
One user, two access sets, two very different levels of control:
Access set | Role | What the user can do |
Set A | Manager | Full control to start or operate specific horizontal control rooms, and access to dedicated production slots |
Set B | Viewer | Monitor operational status only — no ability to edit, stop, delete or directly access the control room |
Administration sets
Administration sets are a third tier of user management. They let organisations delegate specific administrative responsibilities to team leaders within a defined scope.
Administration types
When creating an administration set, two options are available.
Type | Grants authority to |
Users and global roles | Edit roles and permissions for users explicitly added to the administration set |
Access administration | Manage and administer access sets |
Configuration and scope
Each administration set is configured across the following properties.
Property | What it defines |
Admin users | The users granted administrative privileges through the set |
Manageable users | Whether authority applies to all users or a selected list of users |
Manageable access sets | Which access sets the assigned administrators may manage |
Assignable roles | Which roles the group administrator can assign to users — for example User, Manager or Viewer |
📕 Note: higher-level control roles, such as Owner or Admin, cannot be assigned through administration sets.
✅ Tip: access sets decide what users can reach; administration sets decide who can change that — and only within the scope you give them.
