The Details tab contains the core properties of a control room. These settings define the room name, service tier, operating region, proxy quality, aspect ratio, and default encoding profiles. Use this article to understand what each field means and which options may be available when creating or editing a control room.

Opening the Details tab
The Details tab is reached from the Control rooms page. It is also the first step of the + New control room form, so the same fields apply when a room is created and when it is edited later.
Enter the NAME used to identify the control room in the interface
Select the TIER assigned to the room; available tiers depend on the account setup
Choose the REGION where the control room is created
Set the PROXY QUALITY used for proxy and preview workflows
Select the ASPECT RATIO that matches the intended production format
Select the default VIDEO ENCODING PROFILE and AUDIO ENCODING PROFILE from the pre-configured account profiles
Select SAVE to apply the changes to the control room
✅ Tip: Review the Details tab before every production. It confirms in one place that the room is running in the right region, at the right tier, and with the correct output format.

✅ Tip: Proxy quality affects the preview experience only, not the quality of the encoded outputs. Lower it first when operators report a slow or unstable preview.
