Source Settings

Written by Yoanna Hristova

Configuring source settings is an essential step towards a smooth, high-quality production. This article breaks down the settings available on each tab so you can optimise your workflow before going live.

Opening source settings

There are two ways in:

  • Click the three dots on a source and open Settings

  • Click the dedicated Settings tab and select between different sources from there

Global settings

The global settings page holds the foundational controls for your feed's identity, troubleshooting and stream stability.

Setting

What it does

Identification

Change the file name and add tags for better organisation

Source details

View source details and copy the relevant URLs for debugging and communication

Audio mixing

Open the integrated audio mixer function, which includes an information dialogue covering the advanced audio controls

Global delay

Adjust the stream delay — half a second by default

Audio synchronisation

Adjust audio sync independently using the spinner buttons in 50 ms increments, or by typing a value directly

Reconnect feed

Use the reconnect button at the bottom to force the source to reconnect to the feed

✅ Tip: If you experience packet loss or audio drops, increase the global delay. A longer delay gives the system more time to receive late-arriving packets and stitch the video stream together more coherently.

📕 Note: Reconnecting a feed causes a momentary loss of signal while the source reconnects. Avoid it on a source that is currently live.

Vision mixer settings

This tab controls how sources behave during live switches.

  • Transitions — adjust the default dynamic transition types used during the production

  • Mix management — add or remove specific sources from your various video mixes

Display settings

The display settings tab customises how the source is laid out on screen.

Positioning

Adjust the X and Y coordinates to position the source. The coordinate system treats (0,0) as the top-left corner, so a negative X value moves the source left and a negative Y value moves it up.

📕 Note: Position changes are reflected only in the preview window until the source is taken live.

Scaling

Scale the video freehand, or use the link button to preserve the original aspect ratio.

Framing and alignment

Snap the source to different locations within the frame, flip the video horizontally or vertically, or use the integrated fit options.

Opacity and cropping

Decrease opacity with the dedicated slider to reveal the layers beneath the source. You can also crop the source using aspect ratio presets, then fine-tune with the manual controls.

Display presets

  1. Configure the layout you want to keep

  2. Name the preset and hit CREATE

  3. Apply it later with a single click from the drop-down menu at the top, or trigger it via key bindings

✅ Tip: Assign your most-used display presets to key bindings so a layout change is one keystroke during a live show.

Key and fill settings

For advanced graphics integration, the key and fill settings tab is used when importing key and fill graphics as two separate streams. Here you designate the specific key source, which provides the alpha channel transparency for that source.
