The vision mixer settings control how preview and program behave when cutting your production. Configuring them to suit your operating style makes switching faster and more predictable during a live show.

Accessing the settings
To access the settings for your control room, click the settings cog icon in the top right actions area. From here you can configure several key vision mixer features to optimise your production workflow.
Flip-flop mode
Flip-flop mode can be enabled or disabled at any time. When it is active, executing a take swaps the preview and program channels.
The swap applies to all sources in preview and program simultaneously, providing a quick and efficient way to switch back and forth between two regularly used sources.
Split switching
Enabling split switching lets you control your preview and program channels entirely separately. Once activated, separate clear buttons appear for both preview and program within the layer.
Split switching also changes how you interact with the source tiles.
Click zone | Result |
Left side of tile | Places that source into preview |
Right side of tile | Places that source directly into program |
A slider lets you adjust the bias between these two zones, favouring either a preview selection or a program selection depending on your preference.
Inverting preview and program
For operators more accustomed to a layout with preview on the right and program on the left, the invert preview and program option switches the action zones on the source tiles to the opposite sides.
After inverting these zones, adjust your monitor layout to match using the standard monitoring selection dropdown menus.
✅ Tip: Flip-flop suits two-source shows, split switching suits independent preview and program control, and inverting simply mirrors the layout to match how you are used to working.
