Accessing the metrics
There are two routes into the metrics dashboard, depending on your workflow.
Direct source access: click a specific source and select open metrics to instantly reveal the graphs for that source
Metrics tab: open the dedicated metrics tab and add further sources manually from there
Key performance indicators
Source metrics are displayed in a rolling 15-minute window. The colour-coded graphs track several critical data points for evaluating stream stability.
Metric | What it tells you |
Bitrate | The data transfer rate of the stream |
Round trip time (RTT) | The latency and delay of the connection |
Packet performance | Total unique packets, unrecovered packets and retransmitted packets — used to identify packet loss or network congestion |
Output monitoring
Alongside incoming ingest feeds, the system supports egress tracking. If you have connected outputs, select them from the dropdown menu under the outputs heading to monitor their performance at the same time.
✅ Tip: Rising RTT with retransmitted packets usually points to the network path rather than the encoder — check contribution connectivity before changing source settings.
